Justin Baldoni Loses Legal War With Blake ... His Lawsuits Are Dismissed

Justin Baldoni just lost BIG in his legal war with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and The New York Times ... because all of his claims against them have been dismissed.

A judge threw out the lawsuits filed by Baldoni and his Wayfair production company Monday, according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ, dealing a huge blow to the Baldoni camp.

As you know ... Justin and Wayfarer were suing Blake and Ryan for $400 million and the New York Times for $250 million, alleging defamation over an article about all the drama on the "It Ends With Us" movie set ... a story Baldoni alleged was a part of a smear campaign against him.

The judge based his opinion on the finding that Lively had included her allegations in a civil rights complaint and therefore she could not be held liable for the claims ... and the NYT fairly relied upon that complaint as the basis of their story.

Baldoni had said the Times cherrypicked certain text messages and emails to frame him as the bad guy, but the court said the Times' reporting closely tracked Blake's version of events in her complaint.

The judge ruled, "the Times reviewed the available evidence and reported, perhaps in a dramatized manner, what it believed to have happened. The Times had no obvious motive to favor Lively's version of events."

As for Reynolds, you'll recall Baldoni accused Reynolds of falsely labeling Baldoni a "sexual predator," but the judge found that this statement was also consistent with Blake's allegations in her complaint ... and Reynolds had no reason to believe they were untrue. Therefore, the judge said that comment couldn't form the basis of a defamation claim

Blake's lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, tell TMZ ... “Today's opinion is a total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively, along with those that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties dragged into their retaliatory lawsuit, including Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Sloane and The New York Times. As we have said from day one, this “$400 million” lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it."

Actor Ed Gale, best known for his roll as Chucky in the 'Child's Play' film series, has died at the age of 61.

Actor Ed Gale, best known for his roll as Chucky in the Child's Play film series, has died at the age of 61, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to TMZ.

Gale reportedly died while in hospice care in Los Angeles, the source confirmed. Kayse Gale, who said she was Ed's niece, also confirmed his passing in a post shared on her Facebook account.

"It is with a heavy heart and a surprisingly light coffin (see what I did there?) that we announce the sudden passing of our uncle, Ed Gale, has taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife," she wrote.

Kayse referenced her uncle's acting career, which included roles in more than 130 films, television shows and commercials.

“With this wide ranging body of work, he leaves behind legacy full of questionable lighting and amazing one-liners," she wrote.

“Ed’s favorite role was that of the ‘fun uncle.’ His love language was sharing his love of the entertainment industry and the magic of Hollywood with his nieces," she added.

Gale, who was born with dwarfism, made his film debut as the title character in Howard the Duck in 1986 before taking on the role of Chucky in the original Child's Play two years later, a role he reprised in the sequels Child's Play 2 in 1990 and Bride of Chucky in 1998. Other film roles included Spaceballs, The Jungle Book and Tiptoes, as well as starring in the children's show Land of the Lost in the 1990s and appearances on Weird Science, Family Matters, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and My Name Is Earl.

2 killed, 9 injured in mass shooting at a Philadelphia park

PHILADELPHIA —

Two people were killed and nine others injured in a mass shooting Monday night in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park, authorities said.

The gunfire erupted around 10:27 p.m., Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said during a news conference. The victims killed were an adult man and an adult woman, Bethel said. Three teenagers, ages 15, 16 and 17, are among the injured.

“Multiple rounds were fired,” Bethel said. “Different groups of young people [were] out here.”

The shooting happened after a car meetup, KYW reported.

No weapons have been recovered, Bethel added. The names of the victims have not been released.

When asked if a single gunman was responsible, Bethel said, “We don’t know yet.”

“We’ll be able to determine if it was one weapon or multiple weapons, but it’s pretty rapid fire,” he added.

Video from the scene showed a significant police presence, with officers investigating late into the night.

Earlier in the day, Fairmount Park had been filled with families and community members enjoying Memorial Day cookouts, WPVI reported.

CNN has reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia Fire Department, Emergency Services and the city for more information.
